Science & Engineering Outreach Librarian -- University of RochesterPosition Summary:
The River Campus Libraries (RCL) is seeking a creative, collaborative librarian to join the team in the Science and Engineering Libraries. This role supports the scholarly pursuits of the faculty and students in: Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Digital Media Studies. The work of these departments involves coding, online technologies, physical computing (arduino, sensors, raspberry pi, etc.), high tech tools (3D printing, makerspace tools, etc.) and creative applications of new media of all varieties; a keen interest and aptitude in these areas is an asset.
Key responsibilities of this role include: building strong relationships with faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and with partners across the institution; collaborating with faculty in support of learning and research; providing face-to-face and virtual reference and research consultation; fostering a dynamic research environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and creativity; and developing high quality collections.
